My Story
I was born and raised in the bay area (Los Altos, CA) and moved to Brooklyn, NY in 2020. Dogs have been in my family for a couple generations. My paternal grandfather had working dobermans while serving in the military. He instilled in me the importance of training and playing with dogs at a very early age. Both my parents and I lived with dogs for most of our lives. As a kid, I loved training my dogs to do tricks and play ball together. I came into more formal dog training through fostering dogs in NYC. I fostered dogs who were extremely fearful, reactive, and high energy. I began learning from other trainers and watching youtube videos. Then, I worked at a behavior rehab, training and boarding facility in the Lower East Side, called Dream Come True K9. This is where I started to formally learn balanced training methods, attend seminars, and began to cultivate my own philosophy on training. I found TPA through Jerri's instagram. I loved the #openmindedapproach and how Jerri spoke about dog training. I started an apprenticeship with Jerri that led to an internship, which culminated in becoming the NYC trainer for TPA. I come from a background in athletics. I've played highly competitive sports my entire life (soccer, basketball, track & field, swimming, etc.). I went to Stanford University and played NCAA D1 Field Hockey for 5 years. My experience as a student athlete has deeply informed how I approach dog training. The consistency & discipline to work hard and practice everyday translates to dog training very well. Outside of dog training, I pride myself in being a well-rounded person with many practical skills. I work as a Head of Marketing for a tech start up called ManageXR. I coach a JV field hockey team in NYC. I work as an EMT for the Park Slope Volunteer Ambulance Corp. And I still play field hockey in an adult league during the Fall, Spring, and Summer. For fun, I love cooking, eating, listening to music, reading sci-fi, spending time with friends, and cycling around the city. I identify as queer and use they/them or she/her pronouns.

I live in a collective house with 6 roommates. We have systems for sharing labor and working together. We cooperate to cook, clean, and shop for each other. My favorite thing about living this way is that I get a home cooked meal almost 5 nights a week. When the system works well, we all do less work.
